Steve Maples, from parts unknown, embarked on a musical journey in 1980. Doing a residency in Japan for a Musical Review in 1989, after graduation from Boston’s Berklee College of Music, igniting a passion that led to local band performances since 1998. His friendship with Jim White resulted in contributions to three albums—'No Such Place' (2001), 'Drill a hole in that Substrate and tell me what you See' (2004), and the project 'Mama Lucky' with Blues Singer Linda DelGado, performing on renowned shows like Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Late Show with David Letterman. Also, touring extensively across the US, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, France, Norway, and Holland, sharing stages with prominent acts like The Dave Matthews Band and Ani DiFranco. Recent performances include appearances at the Calgary Folk Festival and the 30A Songwriters Festival.
